Re: Green, baby toys! Help

I like Haba, Grimm's, Heimess, Kathe Kruse to name a few. For babies, I don't normally use plastic toys. We have some organic cotton teething toys as well as wood.

Unfortunately I've not been as happy with some of the more mainstream brands like Plan Toys. Often if you shop smaller retailers (I could name several excellent online stores) or even Amazon you can get great pricing and service.

Good luck!

Haba is my favorite. Also like Plan Toys but not as much. Not impressed at all with Melissa and Doug. The paint chips really fast and a lot of their toys don't hold up well.

I completely gave up on Melissa and Doug. My girls had a huge set of wooden play food that started chipping paint. I had invested a couple hundred dollars into that play food and was miffed when I had to toss it all.

This is a great thread by the way!

Re: Green, baby toys! Help

I was due in November too! Hope you and your LO are doing well! I feel the same way about plastic garbage. I bought some HABA and Melissa and Doug toys that are exactly what I wanted. Websites like ecomom.com or zulily.com will have sales every so often on those brands. Getting them a little cheaper is nice since they can be pricier (although worth it!).
