Next step...

DS is 19 months old. He is our fourth. We did the naked thing to pt all of our children. If he is running around naked (at our house, outside, or at my friends house) he will pee in the potty no problem, even unassisted by now (and he prefers to stand which is the cutest thing to see!). Anyway, as soon as we put underwear or a diaper on him he takes it as "okay" to pee in them. It kind of frustrates me but I probably just need to suck it up and be patient. Or do you have any tips on how to overcome this?

My kids have all done the same thing when they first potty trained. They grew out of it eventually.

In the early weeks underwear is too reminiscent of a diaper, and their muscle memory tells them to just go in them. So I would wait a few weeks and THEN introduce the undies. Usually by that time they have more control and have the routine down more and don't tend to wet in them.

The book I'm reading suggests commando. I'd go with soft, loose-fitting pants or shorts for a boy. For my dd, I'm planning to do the commando stage in dresses as first, then move into pants if that is working.

Same here. I waited until she was a little trained to put her in undies. However, my DD doesnt even care if she pees in the undies or not.
