Need pricing help??
My son is now becoming potty trained and no longer needs diapers. I bought my stash used from here over two years ago, so they're well-loved diapers. My question is... how do I price them?
The diapers aren't in good condition really. The velcro is very curly on all and not very sticky on over half of them - so pretty much all of them need either snap-converted or new velcro. I have 10 BG 3.0's and 2 BG 4.0's. The 4.0's are in pretty good shape other than curly velcro. The elastic is still tight. The 3.0's have pretty relaxed elastic. I have 12 one-size inserts to go with and I've always had stink issues with them. (they don't actually stink when you put them on, they stink after the pee sits a little while and then they smell like ammonia) I haven't tried a TON to get it out, but have tried boiling water, dawn dish soap, and oxy clean with no luck. I continued using them anyway, so obviously it wasn't unbearable. The thing is, though, is that the diapers themselves look nice. Stain-free and PUL is still good. The diapers are still "usable" and I don't have any issues with leaking or the inserts repelling. I know a lot of mama's out there are handy and can fix these "problems" rather easily through sewing or using a snap press, and replacing elastic if their LO is little. (Elastic still fit snugly against my chunky LO) So I guess my question is... what can be expected of this? Can I expect to make some money back on them in this condition? I was considering doing maybe like $3.50-$4 per diaper with an insert, plus $10 shipping (medium flat rate) So $58 max for the lot (shipping included)? is that unreasonable? Any guidance would help, thank you!

Re: Need pricing help??
Personally I would not buy diapers knowing they stink. I would try to get the stink out first. Buy some rlr or do a dawn strip and see if you can get it out before listing. It is a good price but not everyone wants diapers that need work. Get the stink out if you can, list them and if they don't move in a week your price is wrong. I don't think it is outrageous to ask but the stink makes it iffy for me.

I would probably just chuck the inserts. They don't last as long as the shells. Or, you could disclose that the inserts could be smelly and give the option on buying just the diaper.
