Re: Cheapest way to Potty Train???
No trainers. We went straight to panties and stayed at home for week!

Re: Cheapest way to Potty Train???
I'd ask at school/daycare what they expect and at what age they are willing to support PTing. with DD her school worked on it in the 2 year old class. She had to wear pull up style trainers to school for about six weeks because otherwise she was having accidents on the way to the playground, and wouldn't sit on the potty for the teachers at first, but she warmed up eventually! We tried the 3 day method at 22 months and it was a complete fail. We re=visited many months later and took some ideas from it and had pretty good success within 4-5 days. I took it with a grain of salt the second go-around, the first time following it to a T stressed my daughter out waaay too much.

We went straight from diapers to underwear. I really don't understand the purpose of trainers. Just take the diaper off before potty then put it back on. When you are ready to experiment with undies, dive right in.

Re: Cheapest way to Potty Train???
I just ordered happy bee trainers from a coop and they were just over $6 each I think (am not positive on the price). I got them for when we go out and such, I don't want to buy expensive pull ups if I can avoid it.

Re: Cheapest way to Potty Train???
Thanks again, everybody!
Good point, RockinLou. I need to check with the DCP and see when they usually start. DS moves into the next room (I guess you could call it the 2 year room) in September. |

Commando .... summertime.... potty seat in the garage for lots of outside playtime.
Accidents will happen! Worked for DD1 at about 29months.

Re: Cheapest way to Potty Train???
3-day potty training worked for us! But with kid 1 and 2, just what everyone else has said. My 1 pair of training pants were like never used.
My policy was keep extra undies and pants in my purse. Hardly ever a poop accident in public, but if so, I just tossed that pair of undies. Still cheaper than pull-ups.

Re: Cheapest way to Potty Train???
I train with underwear and when I am ready to train I train. All my kids trained a little before 2. I think that is a good age to potty train. If it didn't work I would have put them back in regular diapers and try again at later time I wouldn't use trainers.

Re: Cheapest way to Potty Train???
we went naked and then into the gerber padded trainers- not the waterproof ones- and then to regular undies.
i loosely started introducing the potty around one, he was out of dipes at home by 18 months or so, and fully day trained (we had major issues with public toilets for some reason, lol) by 22 months |
