Just got off the phone with P.C. Since she only took one, I don't have to bring her in to the ER at this time. I need to keep an eye on her and make sure she doesn't start showing symptoms of agitation, tremors, etc.

Good update. Hope she's ok. Vyvanse is long acting IIRC, but since she's younger she hopefully will process it quicker. Prayers for a less eventful day after this!

On a side note, it might be a good idea to teach the 8yo how to take a pill so that it's a quick process and you just watch her take that instead of having to police the orange juice. You can start py putting the pill in a spoon of yogurt or applesauce and then reduce the amount until she's comfy just swallowing the pill.

It sounds the same as ds' Biphentin. We used to open the capsule and sprinkle it on a spoonful of yogurt or pudding until he started swallowing the capsules.

If she doesn't have ADHD, she'll probably be pretty bouncy today. Do you have a park or splashpad nearby- you may need it!

Not familiar with that med, but something similar happened here years ago. My boys got into a locked cabinet & downed some of my meds. I took them to the ER & they were treated there (it was actually one of my boys & I didn't actually know which one until we got to the ER & her got symptomatic - they had lied and blamed each other to avoid trouble).

While they were both fine, my son did get very sick. Please go to the ER or AT LEAST call poison control. And I know you fear CPS - so did I. Nothing negative happened. Son was treated & we left after they contacted poison control and all the steps for that medicine were followed. It's unfortunate, but accidents do happen & even the hospital should understand that.

I'm sure this will come off as rude, and I don't mean it to, but may I gently suggest posting to ds when it is necessary to go to ER, on the way out the door, is perhaps not the best focus of energy in an emergent situation?

Ladies I think it has beeen made very clear how you feel in regards to the OPs questions and she has headed the advice and is on the way to the hospital.

So lets keep it positive and hope all is well with her DD and perhaps some of the creative solutions offered to prevent it from happening again will be of help to her
