I got lots of coupons via simiac strong mom thing & target registry plus papers & all. Lots selling 5.00 or so off checks or coupons on ebay. 5 plus for cheap.

I had wic with my oldest & got lots of like free on checks there on formula. I always bought & helped out friend with twins after I stoped using & had a lot left.

I use Kirkland brand formula from Costco and it's about $16.50 per can and the can lasts about a week, so we spend about $70 a month on formula.

I was also going to mention WIC. Even if you're supplementing you can call them, and you'll be able to get some cans for free. We currently get 9 - 13 oz cans. And we can make it all month on that without having to buy any out of pocket. I'm sure that'll change as he gets older.. But they will also give you cereal, and baby food once your child turns 6 months. Plus you'll get checks for other things as your baby grows until they turn 5. Definitely something to look into!

You can also ask your child's pediatrician for samples of formula too! My lo's doctor even told us that if we run out of WIC cans to call and ask for samples to get us through until we can use our next check.

While demand does generally help supply, most cannot stop supplementing cold turkey, and some may never be able to stop. Its just not that simple. I tried and my daughter lost weight. However, slowly reducing (like an ounce a day fur a week, then another ounce a day the next week...very very slow) we've been able to reduce supplement, but we still have to. The first rule its always feed the baby!

And yes it depends what formula your little one takes. Wic is a great option as well. When u formula fed my middle child, my baby drank about 36oz/day.

My son is 4 months old and eats 30 ounces a day. We spend about $120 a month for Gerber Good Start Gentle. If you can use an off brand it will be cheaper.

For us $400+. Luckily between WIC & the insurance company it cost us OOP $0. Elecare is expensive.

Formula is WAY cheaper in the US. It might be better to ask them how many cans (and the size) they go through in the month so you can compare.
