Bumping this. I use a vitamin e oil mix in my face and body (mixed with lotion) but i have been thinking if switching to coconut oil.
How is it when it comes to anti aging properties?

Re: Coconut Oil!

Love this thread! We bought coconut oil when DS had a bad diaper rash a while back, but it ended up being because his diaper was a bit snug and needed to be moved to the next size up. We still have that jar and I knew about some of its uses, but wow -- I love the idea that it's like the Greek Windex in "My Big Fat Greek Wedding."

I get mine at trader joes. That seems to be the cheapest place. I did see it at GNC the other day but it was WAY more expensive! A whole foods store should have it also.

I got mine from Tropical Traditions. They have sales several times a year or free shipping. I got the cold pressed organic.

I use it for tons of stuff too, most of which has already been mentioned. I just wanted to add that I use it under my arms after a shower and never stink. I had given up on trying to find a natural deoderant...I've tried so many and none of them worked for me. I use coconut oil as a moisturizer and one day instead of deoderant I smoothed some under my arms. I work out and do yoga every day so I sweat a fair amount and the coconut oil works awesome! I buy mine through amazon with subscribe and save...

Re: Coconut Oil!

Really curious abotu the garlic/CO mix for pulling out toxins in the foot. What is the ratio mix? Do you wash after, do you put on a sock and sleep w/ it. Would it smell funky the next day since garlic is in it? How do you know it has pulled out the toxins?

I usually get mine at Whole Foods. I've bought it at Kroger too but it's more expensive there and I really like the Whole Foods brand better. They have it in two places, with the health/beauty aids and with the cooking oils. Very same stuff. But it's cheaper in the cooking oils section.

Re: Coconut Oil!

I buy mine in the 52oz containers from Amazon, cheap with subscribe & save and free shipping with Prime. It comes with 2 containers that last a year or more, and I keep one in the kitchen for cooking, to use as a spread for toast and rice cakes, and it tastes great when subbed for vegetable oil in waffles and pancakes. The second container I keep in the bedroom. Use that one for fun time, kids' moisturizer & diaper rash, hair and scalp treatment, and it's THE BEST makeup and mascara remover I've ever found. I used to do homemade deodorant but my skin couldn't hang. I'm super intrigued about using it to brush teeth!!
