You can't get the padded fre from the po. You have to order them from USPS. They are free.

You can only get the regular fre and the frb from the po.

No you do not have to pay for them in advance

**I do know how to spell...my iPod on the other hand does not**

You can pick up a regular fre and try your magic powers to see if it will fit.

I shipped a moby in one before but used a ton of tape. Just don't alter the envelop at all (ie cut it and retape)

I mailed one 3rd class for under $8 in a polybag. When I got it originally in the mail in a box, it was about $9.

If you're desperate to get some padded FRE's ASAP, try posting a WANTED to your local freecycle. I've done that several times when I ran out and needed to ship asap, and I would always get at least 2 responses from people who had them and were willing to share.
