Hello all!
We have a strictly FuzziBunz perfect size stash (thanks, baby shower) for our now 5 month old. She's in the smalls now -- has been for about a month and a half -- and boy am I frustrated. On multiple occasions, multiple diapers have leaked through the seams around the legs. I know for certain it's through the seams because, as she's exclusively breastfed, her poos can be a bit watery and they stain the OUTSIDE of the diapes right around the stitching holes. I've contacted FB and they have been really gracious, replacing 6 diapers for me. I've stripped, hot-dried (as per the FB rep's recommendation), cleaned our washer, changed detergents. The diapers are STILL leaking through the seams. Has anyone else had this seemingly chronic problem? I've searched the forums and only found one older thread (FB has switched manufacturers since then). Is it something I'M doing? Am I just unlucky and got a bad MOE? Let me hear your tales! -Dragonnmama |

I would try adding a doubler or checking your inserts. It sounds like she is getting so wet it's compressing back out, or somehow liquid is coating the insert instead of being absorbed into it.

Re: FuzziBunz Perfect Size Seam Leaks -- help/empathy!
Thanks for the responses! No, the inserts aren't soaking wet, but we usually use the mediocre microterry that comes with.

Could you experiment and stuff them with a prefold or flat for a day and see what happens?

I should add that we use almost all FB perfect size and have never had that happen. They are super reliable for us. That's gotta be really frustrating, I'm sure.

We never got ours to work well b/c if the same problem. I never really figured our issue out but we didn't (and still don't) have issues with our BG 4.0s so I de-stashed all the FB and bought more 4.0s.

We had a similar issue when DS was smaller and still EBF, but our problem was with our Softbums. I emailed their customer service, and they said that it was, to some degree, to be expected of cloth. I'm not sure how much I agree with that, but they suggested using Kiwi Camp Dry on the inside of the cover at the stitching holes. Apparently it had worked well for others.

Re: FuzziBunz Perfect Size Seam Leaks -- help/empathy!
I am thinking it is one of a couple issues. Does she wear a lot of onesies? The snaps on those can add pressure to your diaper and cause some leakages or wicking. Or there is not a tight enough seal around her legs. How much does she weigh? Smalls fit best from about 10 pounds and up, before that XS work best. And then Mediums about 18 pounds. Try playing with the snap placement and see if you notice any difference. OR they aren't getting changed often enough, but it sounds like that isn't the problem.
I hope you get it worked out, fuzzibunz perfect fit are our favorites!
