I may not have to use any formula, but my chunky monkey nursed every hour today then sucked down 5 oz of freezer stash, then went after boob again. Now I have no freezer stash. Never had supply issues but apparently this one wants LOTS of food. So I might end up supplementing and I haven't bought a backup can in several years so I would love some help. Price is less of an issue because I may not even need to open the can.

I hear the whole mess about Baby's Only which is what I used before. As I understand it they've cleared that up?

Still not sold locally so I may have to do another. my second choice previously had been earth's best but now I'm hearing stuff about DHA being bad

I did a google search, but seeing as how I'm sleep deprived I'm apparently not finding much.

Ideas? Recommendations? THanks ladies!

DHA being bad?? I haven't heard that yet....

The kind of DHA used in formula is supposedly manufactured with toxic chemicals (not sure on the specifics but I'll try to find a link). I believe some moms prefer to get non-DHA formula and doctor it up with old fashioned fish oil. Of course then you have to worry about the mercury.

Honestly, anything is bad if you look enough into it. I wouldn't worry about it too much. The only formula you can find without it, unless you make your own, is Baby's Only. Also, from what I've heard its made from an algae source. I could be wrong, but that's what I've read. Also, I've heard some organic formula's have a ton of table sugar added into it, especially Similac Organic. I've heard great things about Earths Best. If your LO tolerates it, then go for it. My LO is on Nutramigen so we don't have much of a choice. I had a friend put a can of Baby's only with her order yesterday.

We upped his acid reflux meds and he actually slept most of yesterday instead of eating most of yesterday so I may be in the clear!
