having 2 kids share a dresser?
I'm not figuring out how to make this work. I'd like to have my 22 MO & 3.5 YO share a dresser but even trying to minimalize their clothing I can't figure out how to make everything fit! There's one drawer for shirts, one for pants & shorts, one small drawer for swimwear, one small drawer for underwear & socks, and one drawer for PJs, sweatshirts, etc. It would probably work if I only put summer or winter clothes in but fall is rapidly approaching here and they'll be needing pants more and more but still wear summer clothes most of the time.
Is it possible to have 2 share a dresser?

I have a 25mo and a 12mo and they share a dresser and small closet. They each have one drawer with all clothing, one drawer they share for jammies, and the very bottom drawer is where I put their blankets and spare sheets.

Re: having 2 kids share a dresser?
My 3 and 4 yr old share a closet and dresser. The dresser is a small pottery barn kids dresser. They each have and underwear/sock drawer and one large draw. In the draw is there play shirts, play pants, and pjs. Everything else get put in the closet.

Re: having 2 kids share a dresser?
Mine share a 6-drawer dresser.
Left side is 2yo - Top - diapers Middle - All tops, bottoms & socks in a basket on one side Bottom - PJ's Right side is 4yo - Top - PJ's Middle - Pants, skirts Bottom - Shirts, dresses, socks & underwear in a basket on one side Fancier dresses and bulkier items hang in the closet and swimwear is in a bin on a shelf. I keep most of the clothing separated by season as the seasons are changing. Like pants and long sleeved stuff in a tote off to the side until we're fully out of tank top weather, then I switch it out. The drawers get a little crowded until I can take out the rest of the off season stuff, but eventually it evens out. We have enough clothes to go about 10 days, maybe a little bit longer. But the clothes are small still.

Re: having 2 kids share a dresser?
We will have our daughters share a 6-drawer dresser. On their "sides" they have one drawer for shirts, one for pants and one for pajamas and misc. (swimsuits, etc). They also will each have a nightstand (2 small drawers) for underwear and socks.

Re: having 2 kids share a dresser?
I'm having the same consideration right now too, for a 2-yr old and a 3.5 year old. Right now they have 8 drawers, but wen I get down to 5 drawers it will be 1-socks, panties; 2- PJs for both; 3-shirts; 4-shirts 5- pants for both. Seasonal items and misc can go in one basket in the closet. They both also have lots of dressers, hoodies, stuff hung up in closet.

Re: having 2 kids share a dresser?
My boys share a dresser and closet. I make sure and only have seasonally appropriate clothing in the dresser and as we make the switch I hang up pants for when we need them until we are full on pants and move them all to the dresser then.

Re: having 2 kids share a dresser?
We don't have dressers but my 2.5yo and 5yo share a closet. They each have a 6-unit hanging thing for clothes (see below). Units are: socks/undies, PJ's, shirts, shorts, pants and swimsuits/sweaters. I've found it really helpful so that when a unit is full, I don't buy more. And not having lots of clothing makes it so laundry doesn't get into mountains.
ETA: My DD has more types of clothes, so if she uses a drawer, I put dividers in and don't allow more than what fits.

Re: having 2 kids share a dresser?
My 5 and 7 yr old share a chest/dresser with 6 drawers. 1 drawer each for socks/undies, 1 drawer each for jammies, 1 drawer each for jeans/shorts (depending on the season). They also share a closet, so all shirts are on hangers. Off season clothes are folded on the top shelf of the closet.

Re: having 2 kids share a dresser?
My girls have (each): One drawer for outfits (I pre-match their outfits... totally OCD... but you could just put tops and bottoms in that drawers), one drawer for socks, underwear, etc. In the summer their one swimsuit and one sun hat go in there, and one drawer for PJs. I have a couple bins for 'too big' and 'too small' so I can easily toss something in a bin if it doesn't fit. I have the dresser in a closet and use the hanging rod above for a couple things like extra sweaters, christmas dresses when my mom buys them (they stay in the closet only for christmas then get donated). I'm pretty ruthless when it comes to clothing, especially my kids stuff, because it saves my sanity when it comes time to wash
