Planetbox!! Expensive but I love that it's one piece (other than the big and small dippers, but I never use the small one) rather than a bunch of individual parts put together. Makes washing easy (I put them in the dishwasher; I did try hand washing once and it was a little hard because of the full size of it.) The ice pack keeps the lunch cold all day so they can even eat any leftovers after school as a snack. Less food waste that way!! The downside is that it is heavy for little ones. My kindergartener can manage it but it does weigh him down.

I bought these for my kindergartner. They are not water tight, which is why they can say "easy open" but they work well for my DD

Re: bento box or other lunch system

We just use the Ziplock ones. I bought 4 when I was in bellingham last fall and we're still using them. One lid has started to crack a little. I don't have a dishwasher so that probably makes them last longer.

Planetbox!! So easy for my guys to use, their teachers are in love with them and very easy to keep track of and clean.

My kids use these also. We used them for a year and they still look new.

Planetbox looks cool but its a bit too expensive for us.

Re: bento box or other lunch system

I just use the two compartment tupperware from the Snapware set I got at Costco.

I bought my husband and me some traditional two tiered bento boxes.

I did buy some fun bento accessories like egg molds, rice molds, cookie cutters, and picks. Oh and also some silicone cups. We have a huge Asian community here, so I was able to buy them local.

We have laptop lunches and love them. My sons box is starting to crack but he has had it since he was 2 and been using it 5 days a week for nearly 3 years
