I got DS a go green bento for kinder this yr. So far we love it. It is a little on the big side but the drink goes inside. Also it seals and doesn't leak as long as you turn the little knob/key on top. I really wanted a planetbox but this was about 1/2 the price.

I've had/used ours for 5 years and no cracks call them about a replacement. Just got the 2.0 version for my dd2 starting preschool in November. So easy to pack lunches a container for protein, grain, veggies, & fruit makes it super easy!

Re: bento box or other lunch system

I just got a go green lunch box. It is big like a pp said but it's because it has a water bottle included in it. I also have the lap top lunch one.

So many choices! I really love the look of the Planetbox ones but they are so pricey.

Go Green looks good as well. Think I am going to check the dimensions of their current carrying bags when I get home and see if any of these fit since their carriers were bought new from Land's End not too long ago.

Re: bento box or other lunch system

I have been playing with Bento lunches/breakfast all summer and figuring out what works the best for all the kids(12-3).
For DS(12) the large rectangular Rubbermaid lunchblox is perfect it has two compartments that are different sizes and hold enough food to fill his two hollow legs Gerber mealtime organizer also works really well for him because it holds a lot of food
DDs(9&6)use the Annabel Karmel 2 tier lunch box. the top is one compartment that would fit a sand which, tortillas for tacos,or noodles. the lower compartment is divided with containers and lids. I don't think the lids are watertight, but since the box sits upright we haven't had any spills when I add applesauce or yogurt.
YDD(3.5)either uses the Annabel Karmel lunchbox or Sassy Mealtime on the Go set. I really love the Sassy set for her,it has a large divided outer container and 3 smaller containers that fit inside with lids. Sometimes I will leave the smaller containers out and just use the larger outer container, use just one or 2 of the inner container or all of them. It is so flexible and holds the perfect amount for her. She has become a real rock star at daycare because the workers love to see what she brings for lunch each day.
To add more options for the kids lunches I also bought 8(2 per kids)Sistema slimlime splits which would in theory hold enough for ydd for lunch, but I think they are better sized for snacks. I also bought the Sistema Breakfast to go,the divider is removable and we will use it for cold noodles,or even soups since my kids like soup room temp better anyway.
Yes I have bought a lot of gear, but given the flexibility it gives us I am so glad I played with different systems and have options to suit each child and how their needs may change from day to day depending on what is on the menu

I got them for my junior kindy kid (4 year old kindy) and in using them for just 1 year every other day, 2 have cracked, one badly enough that I had to recycle it. I'm going to try to squeeze another year out of them, and then probably get a go green box. They're sturdier than a ziplock box, but not by a lot.
