Has anyone tried barley water for supply?

I heard this through a friend of a friend. I'm not having supply "issues" per say, but my 17 month old is EBF due to a stomach condition and nursing every two hours. I worry about my body keeping up. I eat a tremendous amount of calories daily but am still struggling to keep my weight up. Any wisdom on the matter would be great.

Re: Has anyone tried barley water for supply?

I had the opposite problem! I gained weight, and my supply dropped (due to hypothyroid) Before I was diagnosed, I tried barley water along with everything else I couldn't get enough down to see if it worked! NOT YUMMY!!! lol If you want something high calorie and healthy that helps with supply, try making the lactiation cookies with chocolate chips! Super yummy, and I found they actually did increase my supply! There are tons of recipe's if you want to google it!
