Children's room decorating question...

My son has the Kura Ikea bed. http://www.ikea.com/us/en/catalog/products/10123996/ (link in case you don't know what I mean.

For the last month or so, he has wanted to have his comforter on his open side (his bed is against the wall) as a curtain. DH and I are considering making this a bit more permanent as part of his birthday present this year. We thought we could get the Ikea bed tent that goes with this, then get some curtains to hang on the side. I thought about making them then I decided to look on Walmart for Red velvet curtains and I was able to find these. http://www.walmart.com/ip/Velvet-Bla...el-Red/5555770 They look nicer then anything I could make. I would just need to shorten them. I thought the red would look good and be historical color.

However I have no idea how to attach the curtains to his bed. What do you think would be the best way to attach the curtains to his bed? I don't want anything TOO permanent but I would like something that would hold up. I figure we will not be flipping his bed for a while yet.

BTW for those who remember my prior message, I haven't painted his room yet.

Thanks for the help!

I'd go with tab top curtains then just do them right over the rail

I thought about that but the tent goes over the rail too so he wouldn't be able to open them.

I would attach a small curtain rod just inside the top rail. If he's the type that will be very easy on them, you could even just get a tension rod like the ones used for shower curtains.

Ikea has the tension wires that would only make 2 small holes on either side. I would maybe use cup hooks and put grommets in the curtain.
