Last Monday my daughter managed to swallow a quarter. When we went to the ER the quarter had made it as far as her stomach. We went in for a repeat x-ray on Thursday and it was in her stomach still.

We have to go in today (at 2pm CST) and get a 3rd x-ray. If it's not made progress they will have to do a scope procedure and remove it.

Please be praying for a good outcome regardless!!

Surgery was this morning. She sailed through, zero issues. They go the quarter removed. It is black and thinner, the ridges on the side are almost gone, feels much lighter than a 'normal' quarter. It was stuck in the little valve between the stomach and the small intestine so it wasn't going to pass through any time soon....surgery really was the only option. She's watching a movie and dancing to the music on occasion and has even ate a whole frozen pizza! Bounced right back

We saw the doctor today and got the 3rd x-ray...the quarter hasn't moved.

We have a pre-op appointment with the surgeon tomorrow afternoon and they'll actually do the surgery Wednesday. It's all a scope so no cutting or anything, she will be put completely under though. Honestly, from the way my doctor talked the surgeon wasn't too pleased the other doctors let it go a whole week...I'll see what his attitude is tomorrow...
