Fathers Day ideas...

I need some ideas what to get or make my husband for his first fathers day. We don't have much money so I was thinking of making a collage of him and our 7 month old daughter. What do you think?

Re: Fathers Day ideas...

Every father's day now (well, except one when we were moving...), we've done stepping stones with the boys' footprints in them. We just get a round stepping stone frame from the hardware store (then can re-use it each year), and a bag of quikrete (the sand kind works best because it is smoother), mix it up with water in the garden cart, and the boys put their feet in then draw (we've just used sticks to draw, or last year used letter cookie-cutters until it was firm enough to set up and stay - NOT the whole time or you won't get them out!) in the year and the initals of the boys whose footprints it is. It's kind of a 'walking in daddy's footprints' kind of a thing. He loves them, and it's fun for the boys to see how little their feet used to be. Plus, they're cheap and something we can USE - as a border around a flower garden, or just a walking path. The first couple of years, we did them as surprises and then presented them to him, but now daddy likes to be in on the process.

I was going to suggest the online video with family photos. You can even upload the song of your choice. I made one for my DH one year and he still plays it often.

Re: Fathers Day ideas...

Last yr I got an idea from a friend... Take pics of your DC w/ the letters D A D (obviously you only need 1 D) and put them in a 3 pic frame. I have 5 boys and did DADDY in a 5 pic frame. He said it was his best gift ever! It's nice b/c you can do it w/ any amount of kids and change it up! You can also do that for "nana" or "papa" or various other people! LOL
