A diaper sale that went south...what to do?

I recently sold a diaper on Spot. It was a highly-sought after WAHM brand of dipes. The item was new, unprepped and advertised as NIP. The package the diaper comes in is a plastic baggie since it is a WAHM brand. For some reason, I took the brand new dipe out of the bag (with no logo, no writing, just a plain plastic bag). The woman I sold it to wrote to me saying she is unhappy that the dipe was new but not in the plastic baggie.

How would you handle the situation? I think she is trying to get some money out of me.

If it were advertised as NIP, I would expect the packaging. That sounds silly, but that is what I would expect if that is how it were advertised. I don't know what to tell you on how to fix it though.

I'm sorry if something says NIP I expect it to be in the package. I would offer to send her the bag

yep, what everyone else said. whether it is just a plain plastic baggie or not NIP means new IN package. I would offer to mail her the packaging if you still have it.

Yes, I agree I was in the wrong, but what would you do to make it up?

I would apologize, tell her it truly is new and unused but you removed the generic plastic bag without thinking. Has she actually asked for money back or your thinking she will? If she does want financial compensation, maybe 5%?

I would ask her what she wants. She may just want the bag, or she may want a partial refund.

partial refund seems like a stretch to me. I'd say "I'll send the bag or get over it" ok not really but you get the idea. But i do agree with pp...NIP usually means package. But silly since its a plastic bag(which i know the bag you're probably talking about. no big deal...)

i would offer to send her the bag. if she refuses and pursues any kind of refund, at least u can say u offered to make it right. if she wants a refund, agree to it after u receive the return
