Where would to put baby? Cradle, swing, playpen

I was looking around our playroom today and realized I don't hav anywhere to set the newborn down while the older girls and I are playng in the playroom. We have a big baby swing that I could set up, but I don't think that a newborn would quite fit in it (I wouldn't even turn it on but it's still got a big seat). I could put up a pack-n-play in the corner to lay her down in (not my first choice). I even have a kids' toy cradle, nice solid wood construction, that I could lay her in while we are playing. I don't want to just lay her on the floor or a blanket while we are playing, because I want her a little protected from flying toys and falling blocks and runaway shopping carts . I just want her near us during her awake periods and even during those little catnaps throughout the day, and of course I would be wearing her sometimes. This would just be temporary until she's a few months old but where should I put a newborn baby when she's in the playroom with us?

A swing or bouncy seat would be my first thought.

I always used a bouncy seat

I used a travel swing since I could fold it up and out of the way. It worked great for that newborn/infant stage.

Bouncy seat or baby rocker. That way baby can be right near you, but up off the floor and protected a bit from over rammy bigger siblings.

we dont have room in our house for a cradle or playpen. we have a spot in our living room and office for a swing but that's it. we keep a bouncey seat in the kitchen
