That's illegal. If Wic finds out they have the right to take away your benefits.

I honestly just don't use all the checks. My guy eats table food. I asked WIC and they said if I don't use the checks the funds will just go to another family.

I do like the idea of putting them into other foods, but even then I doubt I'd be able to use all of the checks.

I just have WIC take the baby food and cereal off our checks, then the funds are not wasted. We just get the Milk and Cheese. (Although my nurser doesn't drink cow milk, By DD and DH do.)

If you are not using the foods for the intended persons/recipients then you are doing a disservice to the program. Taking the things you don't need and giving them away/selling them is not what WIC is for.

Exactly. If you don't plan on using them just don't get them. You're not required to get everything on the checks.

Re: BLW...on WIC...95 jars a month ?!?

I've used them for tea lights, spice jars, nails and tack jars, office supply jars, painting jars, rooted plants in them, lotion containers, mini first aide packs, snow "globe" jars, mini bug terrariums with holes in the lids, and -TMI- as a container to do HPT's in.
I saw a really cute tutorial where a mama painted them yellow, put lego faces on them, filled them with treats and gave them as favors for a lego themed b-day party. I saw another where they screwed the lids on a board and filled the containers with garage stuff, then untwist the jars to get the nails or whatever. Another on putting magnets on the lids to do essentially the same thing except they were on the fridge. They can be used for just about anything!

We finally donated the food. The meat was grainy and the Veges were high in water. We started calling them jarred garbage. The fruit was the only thing anyone would touch.

I stopped getting WIC even though we are poor as dirt. I want to eat healthy food, and most of what they offer or push you to eat doesn't agree with my idea of healthy.
Plus, they give way too much of some stuff. It went to waste or to family. And so, program just wasn't beneficial for my family and is extremely inconvenient for us.
