Wool Longies or clothes and covers?!!!
I'm looking for some advice input from you wise mamas!
I am currently cloth diapering my 10 month old twins ... some of their stash is new to them, some is left over from my 4 year old's CDing days. But, we're suddenly in need of new covers; just in the past week several covers have just 'gone' (no more elastic in the gussets, aplix no longer sticky, snaps coming off ...) and although we have a couple of brands that we love (Thirsties Duos, Swaddlebee Capris) I'm always open to trying new things/exploring new ways to love on the fluff ![]() So! Coming up on to winter, I'm wondering whether I add some more covers (and pants!) to our collection ... or, do I go for wool longies instead and let them be our covers and pants? I've used wool before, so I'm familiar with the upkeep. Any input would be great!

Re: Wool Longies or clothes and covers?!!!
I say go with the wool longies! Recycled wool is much more economical than knit longies are.

Re: Wool Longies or clothes and covers?!!!
I just made a few pair of upcycled longies this week, can't wait to figure out what shirts will match, we won't be doing a ton of "clothes" this winter... and he's my last baby and might not still be in diapers next winter, so I plan on wallowing in it!! I don't know if you can sew but it takes no time at al to sew up an upcycled pair of longies... after the wool has been felted! I cut the body & waistband from the Katrina pattern, and the legs from the sleeves of the sweater, it is a total of six seams to sew! ;-)

Re: Wool Longies or clothes and covers?!!!
I'm doing a mix this winter. Covers for use with bodysuits and wool and fleece pants with shirts
You can have your cake and eat it too!

Re: Wool Longies or clothes and covers?!!!
that's my plan--woolies for pants when we're home, pockets w/ proper pants when we're out. this is what I've been doing over the summer too, just soakers instead of pants. lots less laundry, and I like that!

For winter I love pants that double as covers

Re: Wool Longies or clothes and covers?!!!
Go for some longies! since they do double duty as pants and cover, they are warm, and not to mention cute! for twins you can come up with some cute coordinating color combos, too! I also personally find wool easier (since you only have to wash/lanolize every few weeks than washing a bunch of covers every 2 days or so.
