Re: Trying to Make Peace with 1st C-section in 4 Days :(

I do have a birth plan written up! I searched online and realizedI should do one for a C/S as well. The printer is not working right now, so I had my son print it so I CANNOT make changes it to now...but I will put a signature line for the doctor on their and see if he would sign it. I thought about that but wasn't sure if a doc would sign - thank you!

Here is my little plan...

Conort C-Section Birth Plan

Please allow our requests to ensure a proper, non-traumatic birth experience and gentle bonding with our new daughter.

For the MOTHER

~PLEASE Explain/Confirm Any/All procedures with myself or my husband beforehand. All patients have the right to informed decisions regarding their care.
~PLEASE Verify Position with Ultrasound before c-section.
~NO General Anesthesia! I wish to bond with my daughter immediately.
~PLEASE insert catheter AFTER spinal.
~PLEASE use DOUBLE SUTURES. NO Staples. I am seeking a VBAC after this birth.
~PLEASE allow immediate Skin-to-Skin contact so I may avoid Birth Trauma
~NO Sedatives after birth. This will adversely impact bonding/breastfeeding

For the INFANT (Violet Skye)

~NO Hepetitus B or Vitamin K Shots
~NO Erythromycin/Eye Drops
~NO Formula/Supplementation. She will be exclusively breastfed

In the event that I am unable to voice my decisions for my own care or that of my daughter, all decisions will be made and must be cleared by my husband.

I wanted it short and direct so they would actually read it. Trying to go in as prepared as possible!

Esther - Wife to Super SAHD Jason
WOHM to Terrence William (18), Lily Rayne (4) &
Violet Skye (Breech C/S 9/17)
ISO: Size 1 Mini Nappis, Capris, Simplex, and Thirsties

Just reading through all of this now. Thinking of you, mama! Your birth plan sounds great. I wish I would have been able to prepare for our unplanned c/s instead of being dumbstruck and in shock about it all. ::sigh:: I still have some emotional healing to do.. but I just wanted to say that the physical healing was the least of our difficulties, and in my experience, being as prepared as you are would have helped with all the emotional trauma we went though.

I hope your family is having a beautiful time bonding and loving life together.
