Re: To Do Before Baby Arrives

Base on my stuff I have done and bought before and after baby arrived. Now she is 4 month old.

General To Do
- Find an OB
- Walk 20 minutes everyday
- Drink a lot of water
- Eat healthy food
- Try to sleep...Key word "TRY"

To Buy
- Carseat
- Crib with a firm mattress : I also bought pack n play when we go to my in-laws house.
- Changing table: At first I thought I didn't need but actually it is a must have for me
- Diaper pails: I had been used regular trash can but it didn't keep the odor like I wanted it to, so I bought an Arm & Hammer pail for disposable diapers and a Playtex Diaper Genie II Elite Disposal System, Advanced for dirty cloth diapers AND IT WORKS WONDER!!! So happy.
- Stacking Bins(Optional): cheap one at Walmart. No need fancy diaper organizer. I LOVE IT.
- Swaddle Blankets: Demonstration 47"x47" is best IMO. I bought mine from A&A. My DD can't sleep without it.
- Wipe warmer: My DD doesn't like cold wipes.
- Bottles
- Fisher-Price Rock n Play: Lifesaver
- GMD NB workhorse

To Make
- Wipes
- Burpy cloths
- Blankets

Baby Shower/Registry To Do
- I didn't have baby shower

To Pack for Delivery
Do things simple
- Toiletries
- Nursing Bras
- Comfy PJ
- Comfy shoes
- Ipad
- Camera
- Video recorder
AGAIN DO THINGS SIMPLE, you don't need fancy stuff.

Completed/Deleted

If we find out new baby is a girl, we are redoing the baby room. I think we will keep the safari animal theme if it is a boy.

To Buy
All new furniture for DS (bed, dresser, toy/book storage for his new room), baby will be using his. Will need lots of new clothes, DS was an august baby. We want to get a king bed in the next few months too! We need a double stroller, maybe a city mini?

To Make
Hmm i don't know? I would like to make lots of freezer meals, I've read about them here but don't know how yet. I am still a cooking novice!

Baby Shower/Registry To Do
None, this is baby number two

To Pack for Delivery
Ha, I did not even pack for DS till the day off!

Completed/Deleted
DS has been moved to a toddler bed, and loves it. So that has freed up our crib. We don't plan to move him into his new bedroom until after the holidays though. I doubt we'll buy a city mini, I don't want a side by side and I don't like how they stack their front and back seating positions, and the price is insane considering DS will be nearly 3 before we're using it much. Also, I would have to buy an adaptor (more $$) for our graco bucket seat to be able to be used, or wait to use it till baby was much older. So we are looking at the graco room 2 ride and it seems to get good reviews from most people.
DS is officially moved into his new room as of tonight, we'll see how it goes. He has been super excited about it! We ended up keeping the paint color because it was a really nice color and recent paint job, but added thomas train wall stickies, bought him a new dresser which took DH almost 4 hrs to assemble (it was a beast!), a new rug, and a toy storage system for some toys. He's really excited.

I went through the newborn and 0 - 3 mo bin of clothing from DS to see what we still had and what we still need for #2. The clothing is all in DS's baby dresser now. It was washed before I put it away, but that was almost 2 1/2 yrs ago so I'll wash it closer to my due date. Baby is a boy so we don't need to redo that room either, we thought about it but still love the room theme so we decided to just keep it!

I'm not sure if we are upgrading our bed. We may just stick with our queen for now. Our room is not very big and we don't co sleep so I think we can make it work.

Planning to buy the double stroller closer to my DD, I will watch for sales. Unless something changes we are still liking the graco ready2grow double stroller for our needs.

yay!

I'm really excited for this - finally finally found bedding I like for DD the other day, so it's ordered and on the way. Got wall decals to go with it. We'll have to go to town to match sheets and curtains and then I just can't wait to put her in her new room

and then... only then.. will I start thinking about all the things I need to do in the nursery :P

Yay for your DS! My mom bought my DS wall stickers of Thomas for his room at her house, too. And he was magically excited and content to sleep there instead of with me! I think those stickers are magic!

Went to update my list and realized I haven't done anything on it. Can I add directly on to my "Completed/Done" list just to feel accomplished?
