I didn't. We waited until the cord stump fell off and the meconium was done before CDing.

Re: Did you pack cloth diapers for the hospital?

No, I have enough stuff to haul to the hospital. We'll start cloth-diapering when we get home. We completely by-passed newborn diapers last time around. We only bought smalls and waited until DS's cord stump fell off before we started cloth-diapering him. This time I have loads of newborn diapers. We'll start cloth-diapering in our first hours at home.

I did, but he went to NICU for a week so we didn't get to use them.

Yup, and we plan to again They're so darn cute, and the staff loved them!

Who are you people getting free disposables anyways??! We have to provide our own diapers (they'll give you one or 2, but you're expected to buy a pack and bring it along), so it wouldn't make sense to buy disposables when we have a whole cloth stash ready and waiting.

In most US hospitals Pampers are provided. However I don't think people realize that they are not free. You really are paying for them. This will depend on your insurance if you see that cost of out pocket though. Like last time we had met our deductible but for sure if you look at that itemized list they are on there. If they open it, you pay for it and if you don't take it with you then they throw the rest of the pack away. So if you're going to use some then might as well use them all. I just personally have an issue with using disposables and I have the cloth so I'm going to use it.

Yep, YDD (14 months) has actually never even worn a disposable diaper. I did not find it a big deal to do cloth in the hospital and we got lots of compliments I did do diaper laundry as soon as we got home but I always feel great after having my babies so by 2 days old doing laundry was no big deal for me.

No. I brought Seventh Gen to the hospital. We were only there 24 hours after birth and didn't want black tar poo on cloth.

Re: Did you pack cloth diapers for the hospital?

Yes! We brought some gdiapers, and some fitteds/covers. The nurses were shocked that people still used cloth, and thought they were so cute. I really didn't find it that difficult at all, and all the meconium washed out - no stains at all!
