What pants or really skinny kids?

My dd is 4 1/2, average height but only 31 lbs. Winter is coming again and I'm looking for input on what pants to look for. Im sick of her butt hanging out! The adjustable waist pants have not worked in the past. We plan in doing a lot of dresses this year and some leggings work but I still want at least 1 or 2 pairs of jeans or khaki's. Thanks!

Re: What pants or really skinny kids?

Could you buy some from a thrift shop and then make a stitch in the waistband to tighten them a bit? This is what I do to my DD's pants b/c she is skinny as well. It works great and then as she grows and the pants get too tight, I just cut the stitch and they fit her again. Works best on elastic waists, but I've done in on regular ones, too.

77kids has great jeans for skinny kids but they closed. Maybe try searching eBay etc for some though!

I have a toddler boy so the sizing could be completely different, but I have found that our Osh Kosh pants are pretty slim!

We've got skinnies too. Dresses are great! Have you tried old navy slims that also have adjustable waist. They run narrower than some jeans and by the time we cinch the adjuster in some we usually do okay.

Re: What pants or really skinny kids?

After years of having my MIL make all his pants, we FINALLY found some 'normal' jeans for DS (6.5yo, 35lbs-skinniest kid I've ever seen in my life). Seriously, he was wearing swim trunks this summer that looked pretty short. I checked the size and they were 6-9MONTHS. He's a string bean. ANYWAY, Old Navy has skinny jeans. Not the popular trend with skinny legs, but actually skinny jeans for toddlers. I can't remember if that's what they're actually called. They also have adjustable waists. They're as close as we've come. The 4t is a little short, but the 5t is too big, even cinched in all the way. But he has REAL jeans instead of home-made plain pants.

And it would help if I read the posts first. Yes, the person right above me mentioned the Old Navy slim jeans. Those are the ones.

Land's End has some great slim sizes (although I've only ordered for my boys) with adjustable waist bands. They are a bit pricey but sometimes have good sales.

My 5yo ds is tall and skinny. He has to have adjustable waist but thy are not all created equal. Old Navy and Carhartt fit him best. The kid can still fit into a 2T waist but has to have a 5 for length.
