How long did you babywear for?

I didn't carry my 4 year old twins except in a backpack carrier when they were a little older (2 and 3 yo). My baby girl, I carried ALL the time in multiple carriers; moby, woven wraps (loved my dolcino), several mei tais, ergo, sling. She's currently 25.5 pounds and 16 months old. She's a bit heavy to carry and she wants to be down walking. She's okay with being carried as long as I'm moving. Don't get me wrong, it's a great workout but it's hot. Luckily it'll be getting cooler here soon so I'm hoping I can continue to wear her til close to her 2nd birthday next April.

How long did you carry your LO? Were they content in the carrier? Which one?

My 2.5 yo still likes to ride on my back in the Ergo. However, after about 18 months she isnt always content and likes to get up and down, so I used my linen RS for hip carries until my pregnant belly made that uncomfortable. Since the baby was born I can often be found cooking dinner or shopping with DD1 in my back in the Ergo and DD2 on the front in my RS. I must look like a 3 headed pack mule...I get some looks and sympathy from DH.

My lo likes to ride on my back in the ergo and likes to ride on the front when he's fussy (which is all the time right now with teeth coming in) in my angelpack. He likes the owl print lol.
He is only 11 months though.

My 2 year old still loves to be carried on the front in my Ergo. We still use it all the time.

My 29 month old still asks to be carried. I use mostly the Boba or a woven. He'll be worn on hikes when he gets tired or on long walking trips (zoos, etc) and then when he's pretty sleepy he'll want to be worn while shopping.

I actively wore DS1 until he was 4 and I got pregnant (and was way to nauseous to carry or wear anyone). He was a peanut though and maybe 30lbs at 4yo? DS2 is worn as much as I can as well (wore him almost all day at the LA County Fair on Sunday). He is about 23lbs and 19mo.

Re: How long did you babywear for?

I carried DS #2 for the first 8 months of his life 24 hrs a day. But stopped wearing him out and about when he was about 2 (becco). He was just too big and it was too much for me. He was about 28 lbs. But he was carried in a structured kelty hiking backpack by DH until about 3.

I still occasionally wear my 3 1/2 year old. I put my almost 5 year old in my Boba 3G a couple weeks ago when we had to make a long walk to the car at a sporting event and he got a blister. He's still not quite 40 pounds.

I've worn my 17m DD daily since she was born & would be content to continue until she's 4ish. She weighs in at only 19 lbs & a few ounces so that's a big factor for us.
