We do black bean burgers. Is that the kind of meatless burger you are looking for?

I made some awesome black bean quinoa burgers for dinner last night. They were awesome. DH, who is still not sold on the veggie stuff, asked for seconds! That's a win in my book. I'll come back with the lik.

Re: meatless burgers

We really like these black lentil burgers, we eat them on buns with lettuce, tomato and avocado. If you do cheese Monterrey Jack is good.

Re: meatless burgers

You can always make your own from what you have on hand. You basically need a bean (black, white, chickpea, etc.) of some sort, a binder grain (rice, quinoa, etc.), egg or flax or egg replacer for more binding, veggies (be creative) and spices. Blend them together in a food processor (add bread crumbs if it's too wet) and grill (using foil) or bake or pan fry.

The last ones I made were off the cuff using no recipe and whatever we had on hand and the family said it was one of the best burgers I made in a while.....go figure!

Re: meatless burgers

I'd honestly suggest Boca Burgers if you're only going to get one shot. Buy their Flame Grilled burgers and then brush them with whatever you would use to marinate beef burgers. Cook them on the grill (they cook pretty fast so be careful not to overcook them!) and serve them with all of the toppings you would use for normal burgers.

If you can get him sold on the idea that meatless burgers aren't so bad, you'll have all the time in the world later to experiment with recipes.

Go figure, right?! Those are always the ones you can't ever repeat exactly too. Random stuff, no measuring, etc.
