Shoes for Rainy seasons

My son is growing out of his 12-18 mo Robeez We are about to hit the rainy season and I really don't think his Robeez will do well in the rain. What is a good shoe for the next step. He just started walking and I have some Robeez in 18-24 mo that will be good for indoors and short trips in stores and stuff... but any walking and he will really need something a little less flexible and more water resistant(at least on bottom.)
