HELP! 4 yr old wetting bed and not waking up!
Ds has been potty trained for over a year. He had some issues about not waking up in the night in the beggining but always woke up after the fact, cry all upset with himself, and we would tell him not to worry it was just an accident, clean him up, clean up the bed, etc. But it stopped and we haven't had accidents for a while.
Suddenly though he's having accidents at night again. And he's not even waking up afterwards! He just keeps sleeping! Several times I have found the bed sopping wet, hidden saturated underwear, he doesnt even tell us after he gets up in the morning! I dont understand what's going on....or how to even handle it. What should I do?

My daughter does this too. whenever I heart her cry at night, I rush in and make take her to the bathroom. She won't get up on her own, just cry, pee, sleep.

Monitor fluids more before bed. See if you can figure out when the pee is happening and wake him to pee. I'd guess it's between 2 and 4 AM.

Re: HELP! 4 yr old wetting bed and not waking up!
It could just be a stage or growth spurt. My DS does this sometimes and he is just in such a deep sleep that it's actually pretty hard to wake him up. I would put a waterproof pad under the mattress and get him up to go when you go to bed.

Re: HELP! 4 yr old wetting bed and not waking up!
There is nothing you can do. My 8 year old still does this, he just doesn't wake up when he has to pee and sleeps right through it.
Only thing we have found that helped at all was a malem bedwetting alarm, it was effective at waking him up, sadly it got wet and stopped working and they have no warranty and we haven't had the $100 to spend on a new one yet. My husband wet til he was a teenager and my older two boys were both 5+ before hey stopped bedwetting. ![]() Waterproof sheets (target ones are the best i have found, they dont feel or sound like plastic) and washable bed wetter pads are your friend. I love these: http://www.vitalitymedical.com/invac...e-bedpads.html I got 5 of them and got the 1600cc ones, they work great and often that's all I have to wash in the morning saves lots on laundry.

I use them when the kids are sick, should have thought to use them!
