Best cloth wipes?
I have been trying to use cloth wipes. First, my mom made me some but them are two layered and are very thick. She doesn't have a serger so they are really bulky around the edges.
Then I tried baby wash cloths. They are just so rough! So my two 'cheap' solutions failed and I am ready to buy some that will work and last a long time. (got to get my $ worth) Any suggestions? What is your wipe routine? I have been experimenting with spray bottles and keeping the wipes wet all that time. Last edited by eileprose; 09-08-2012 at 11:48 AM. |

Re: Best cloth wipes?
Personally, I prefer two-layered wipes. The imagine wipes at Nicki's look like they're single-ply, also when I was looking on Etsy it seemed most of those were single-ply as well.

Re: Best cloth wipes?
My favorite wipes were super cheap and homemade. I got a dress at goodwill for $4.99 that was a thermal cotton (like thick long johns) and cut it into approx 5" squares with pinking shears.
that's it! They work great, are single layer and I got about 30 wipes for under $5

Re: Best cloth wipes?
I prefer flannel wipes - I have Bumkins ones. They're around $6 a dozen. I used sposie wipes first so the 2 ply ones are all too thick for me. I actually use some baby washclothes too (but I didn't get super cheap ones) and keep them wet. Easier and work better that way IMO.

Re: Best cloth wipes?
My favorite wipes are Eli's Wipe-ees, made by katedanzer here on DS. She has different varieties but mine are flannel/cotton velour. I really think you need a 2 layer wipe for poop, but that's just my opinion. Mine are definitely not too thick. I just keep a peri bottle filled with water and baby wash and wet them as i need them.

Re: Best cloth wipes?
I went through the exact same thing! I ended up buying a bunch of different kinds of wipes from amazon so I could feel them and decided to keep BabyKicks and send the rest back. I love them so far! They are thin, yet are softer than the cheep washcloths even when air dried. I have these:
