Quick- NB Diaper Help!

OK I'm buying the rest of our newborn stash- so far I have a dozen infant prefolds, 2 Xsmall Honey boys, 3 small fitteds, 3 NB Bumpys covers, and 2 small Bummis covers. I'm ordering a dozen Kissaluv 0's, a newborn Bummis- and what else do I need? I'm not looking for an extravagant stash by any means, just need to finish up the must-haves.

Someone said I should have fleece liners for the kissaluvs? Do I need doublers or anything? I've never used fitteds before so I'm not too sure about that. Suggestions pleeeaasee??

Oh and my son was 7lbs 6oz, so I'm not expecting a huge baby... if that makes any kind of difference!

Re: Quick- NB Diaper Help!

We got by just fine with 12 KL 0s & 4 BSWW. His small pockets didn't fit until 6wk old and I never could get the cpfs on well enough. Come to find out he's a power pee-er which is why he was wetting through to leaks in 60-90min with a cpf. OY!

Yeah I'd get a few doublers or boosters. If you are gonna buy all new, I'd get 2-3 of the thinner (boosters?) and 1-2 of the thicker (super soakers?). That or try your luck on here or ebay if you are ok with used.

HTH!

Re: Quick- NB Diaper Help!

I'm working on my NB stash, too, and the one thing I still want to do is go to the fabric store and get some microfleece, and cut it myself to fit. The conventional wisdom seems to be that most NB's go so often that each pee is pretty small and you don't need a lot of soaking power, but I figure better safe than sorry. You've got quite a stash there! When are you due?

Re: Quick- NB Diaper Help!

Linda, I might steal your idea of just buying some fleece and cutting it myself! I'm due August 14th... I don't feel like I have that many diapers, lol, I'm so worried that I won't have enough! I think I'm pretty much done, I might pick up a few more covers in FSOT if I see them though.

Re: Quick- NB Diaper Help!

If I was going to build a nb stash all over again knowing what I know now I would get:
-15 KL 0's
-10 AIO's or pockets (we have honeyboys & fuzzi bunz)
-3 wool soakers
-3 WAHM covers (Wigglewormbottoms are awesome)
-dozen preemie prefolds
-dozen infant prefolds
-fleece liners
-5 dozen cloth wipes

We go through a lot of diapers and I have been really glad I had so many!

Re: Quick- NB Diaper Help!

While I haven't cloth diapered a NB I plan to right around the same time as you. Here's my stash so far:

16 KL0's
3 Nb fitteds
3 XS pockets
24 preemie prefold
10 covers
4 wool soakers
fleece liners (made myself mostly)
6 dozen cloth wipes
4 snappi's

I also have my small stash finished (not sure size of baby or how fast she'll grow):

10 KL 1's
12 fitteds
8 pockets
6 AIO
4 infant prefitteds
16 infant prefolds
8 covers
plus I am planning on getting some wool.

Hope my list helps, I've had a lot of more expierenced mamas point me in the right direction.

Re: Quick- NB Diaper Help!

You may want just a couple more covers for those uncontainable explosive poos. It's better to have extra than not enough. Do you have pins or Snappis?
Liners are great either fleece or flushable. Maybe a couple nightime doublers.
