Re: Name -- Brutal Honesty, ladies!

Welll... I think you're right in that all four together is tough. I think Emersyn Jewel is pretty, and Emersyn Dawn is pretty, but the dawn and jewel together in either formation just doesn't seem to work...

Now, if like you said, it'll never really get used then you could just keep it that way and not worry too much about the flow... though it would still bother me, and probably you since you brought it up

Maybe you can get DH to agree to a different family name?

Re: Name -- Brutal Honesty, ladies!

Thank you for the responses ladies... we definitely appreciate all of the input! I really don't think Dawn is going to work. I just can't bring myself to like it.. much less love it. :/

I admit it took me a little bit to get used to the spelling.. but, assuming this baby is indeed a girl, it will be our 3rd girl and our older 2 girls names end with "yn" so we want to end this babies name with yn as well.

I really would go back to DH and kick Dawn since you don't like it. I have two middle names too before marriage and it was kind of annoying constantly dropping it off of every form. But it was pretty on my diplomas

I think you would need two middle names with two syllables each so it keeps flowing. Emersyn Jewel is really pretty to me.

Re: Name -- Brutal Honesty, ladies!

I really like Emersyn Jewel, and I think Emersyn Dawn is ok. All of it together doesn't flow well, and I totally agree with you to just drop "Dawn". I don't think that Emersyn will care that all her siblings have two middle names and she doesn't. from what I've heard about pattern-naming even though the parents worry that one kid will feel "left out," the kid doesn't feel left out at all.

I bended to my family's thoughts about naming with my first daughter, and then got teased because the name was so long (from trying to please everyone). This time, I've learned and I'm going with one first and one middle name that I love no matter what anyone else says.

For the record I love the spelling of Emersyn, it seems more girly then the other spellings.

Re: Name -- Brutal Honesty, ladies!

I like the spelling Emersyn, but I'd be worried about mis-pronunciations. Maybe that isn't a big deal, but do think about it.

I do think all 4 names together sound awkward.
