I admit it took me a little bit to get used to the spelling.. but, assuming this baby is indeed a girl, it will be our 3rd girl and our older 2 girls names end with "yn" so we want to end this babies name with yn as well.
Have u thought about emmersyn?

Re: Name -- Brutal Honesty, ladies!

Thank you for all the input and suggestions ladies!

I think we've decided on a name. Emersyn Jewel Dianne Schmidt.

I lost my 49 y/o aunt Jaunary 31st to a very aggressive cancer that started in her anal region and spread to her brain in a matter of months. She was in hospice the last 10 days and both her sister (my other aunt) and myself sat next to her day in & day out until the very end. Her middle name was Dianne so it has special meaning to me.

Now... don't even get me started on boys names if my intuition is wrong & this baby is a boy, lol!

Emersyn Jewel Dianne Schmidt

Soooo sweet and I love the background on the story, it is a lovely way to honor your aunt. This also flows much better.

Ddc, but I love the spelling of Emersyn. I knew an Emerson, and it was a he, so I think syn is more girly. I also love the sound of Jewel first, and Dianne goes great with it also.

Re: Name -- Brutal Honesty, ladies!

Thanks for all the input ladies! Definetely appreciated. SO relieved to have a baby girl name picked out. BUT now we must move on to boy names! AHHHH!

Dh suggested Nixon last night. I'm on the fence. Don't love it, don't hate it... but I can't stop associating it with the late president. And, it's not a great association. Sooo more input? Brutal honesty girls.. the good, the bad, and the ugly. Help me either love it or hate it.. LOL!

Honestly? I hate it but only because it makes me think of the former president. Is that why he likes it because there are really nice president names out there!

Re: Name -- Brutal Honesty, ladies!

Having two middle names is a legal pain. Just FYI.

As for why it feels awkward, it's because the letter sounds aren't alphabetical, and our brains like patterns. Dawn Emersyn Jewel sounds much smoother with the same three names, but I know Dawn is not your first choice.
