Basic Friday

We are a group of parents that chat and support each other.
We have been at this for a while so some of us are out of the diapering stage.
...some were out and are back in again.
Every once in a while we actually get to answer a diaper question or two in here.
If you are looking for a very diverse and open group come on over and chat.

I'm sorry too Mel. I really hope your socket heals soon and the weather gets better...send the snow here. We haven't had any snow at all.

Re: Basic Friday

So we are having both a fire drill and practice for a code red(imminent danger) today...oh joy.
Of course it just dawned on my that I have to actually leave my room to lock my students in safely. Then walk around to my other door unlock, let myself in and relock it...seems inherently not very safe! Especially since my walk around to my other door is through the commons area, where the imminent danger would most likely be. Ummm we may need to fix that.

That doesn't sound good Jen. I hope you can find a different method. It scares me to death when I read about all the terrible things that happen in the schools over there.

The girls are feeling much better today. Their pain is being managed mostly with painkillers....no ice packs needed. That's really good.

Tonight we're having sausages and pancakes for dinner. I was going to do mashed potatoes but I just felt like having pancakes instead.

Sorry about the door issue Jen! You can lock it and then just close it? That is how ours work, we lock them and then close and they stay locked. We have had two lockdown drills and 3 fire drills already this year. So fun, so fun!

Glad the girls are feeling better Janine! That is such a good sign. I hope that they are all better by Christmas.

It is the first day of my holiday. Today is an unpaid day for me to due government cutbacks, so all permanent teachers are at home. Fun times! Ru is at work and E went to taekwondo. I got up at 8, took some more painkillers, and went back to bed. I think that the antibiotics are starting to help, though it is still very painful. It hurts when I talk, when I eat, and when I am just plain sitting still. I am getting beyond annoyed.

Funny thing happened...MIL didn't know I was making pancakes and she made pancakes too. So we had the thick and fluffy american style buttermilk pancakes I make and the thin crepe style pancakes that MIL makes for dinner tonight. Everyone was mostly full so we'll have MIL's pancakes for breakfast.

They do seems to be starting to work Janine, as the swelling is coming down some. Thanks goodness!

I am doing a last load of laundry and starting to pack stuff for our trip. E has too many clothes. I can't resist buying stuff for him!
