Re: KAL ~ Knit for FALL! Sept 9 - Sept 15

Trying to read through but this wheel talk has me spinning since I have no idea on it but it sounds so much fun.

Cute I never really put Charlotte with the spinning of fiber, sweet.

Ok I am sooo tired, just finished working on my work out of home stuff and have been so busy all day. Dh leaves early in the morning for a guys trip, now what to do while he is gone?

I am going to sleep, night ladies. ;0)

Re: KAL ~ Knit for FALL! Sept 9 - Sept 15

I will admit I'm not an earlybird - we usually get there around noon. Just in time for the kids to be starving and need a nap about an hour in...

Mindy- how much do you think it's worth since its 3-4yo? I was hoping around $275 since I can get one new for $575

Honestly wheels don't depreciate that much if they're maintained. Around here, any wheel in that price range, no matter the brand, most likely has issues. Schachts in particular seem to hold their value, if that's in good shape, and she's getting rid of it for a penny under $400, IMO it's a good deal.

I agree and I told Dani the same thing. I could actually sell my matchless for MORE than I paid because they are so hard to come by up here so if I were to move, I am selling and I will buy another down there in the land of free shipping. I would only do this because the last year has been a bit of a change from the ones they have always done, not enough to warrant selling to buy that one but if I were anyway...

Yes, I asked around and heard around $500 for a price point on used if it's in good shape. I'm the same way, I could list mine for the same or more than I paid for my Matchless and it would sell. And if they ever release a walnut version, I will

I'm hoping my old lady charming skills can butter her up, or down rather, to my price range. Or at least that she'll let me do payments or something

If you pull it off, rest assured you're getting a screaming deal. Truly though, for the cost of used wheels, to me it makes more sense to buy new most times. Less worry about what the previous owner did or didn't do with it, potential warranty, and often you get freebies thrown in (I got a free lb. of BFL as an extra).
