gatorade alternative?

my midwife generally has mamas drink electrolyte drinks and the like going up to and during labor. Because I have 1/3 of my pancreas missing and issues with too much sugar (and HFCS etc) as is I'm looking for an alternative. Is there something homemade that doesn't taste like complete ? or something from a health food store maybe?

I drink it before, during and after long runs as it replaces electrolytes but doesn't contain any sugar (and only 8 calories). It comes in a tablet that you drop into water. So many yummy flavors, but they're not super-strong or sweet.

I buy mine at our local running store.

what's the sweetener in it? can't do anything artificial, aspartame, splenda etc either... can't find an ingredients list on their website..

Smart water, its water with electrolytes and a few vitamins. Or vitamin water but I'm pretty sure vitamin water has sugar.
