gatorade alternative?
my midwife generally has mamas drink electrolyte drinks and the like going up to and during labor. Because I have 1/3 of my pancreas missing and issues with too much sugar (and HFCS etc) as is I'm looking for an alternative. Is there something homemade that doesn't taste like complete
? or something from a health food store maybe?

Can you drink nuun?: http://www.nuun.com/
I drink it before, during and after long runs as it replaces electrolytes but doesn't contain any sugar (and only 8 calories). It comes in a tablet that you drop into water. So many yummy flavors, but they're not super-strong or sweet. I buy mine at our local running store.

Re: gatorade alternative?
Smart water, its water with electrolytes and a few vitamins. Or vitamin water but I'm pretty sure vitamin water has sugar.

WHAT SORTS OF SWEETENERS ARE USED IN NUUN BRANDED PRODUCTS? Different Nuun branded products use different sweeteners, such as acesulfame potassium, stevia or dextrose. All of the sweeteners used in Nuun branded products are recognized as safe by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for the general population, including pregnant women and children. here: http://www.nuun.com/company/faqs?ck=...&cktime=105473
