Re: Doing it all???

Here's my solution... might sound nuts to some, but it's working for us. There just weren't enough hours in the day to get the housework done. Not even enough time to "encourage" (read: make) the kids do their chores. So, we added more hours to the day, and by that, I mean that we pushed back bedtime. Now instead of pj's at 7:30, bed at 8, it's a thorough cleaning time at 7:30, pj's whenever we're done, bed usually 8:30-9ish. And they sleep in a little later. It's working well here, and I feel like I can focus on something else when the kids are in bed, rather than freaking out about the tornado of a house I live in.

Re: Doing it all???

I do a modified version of FlyLady. I have a routine when I get up.

*make bed
*shower
*wipe the sink and toilet down before I leave the bathroom
*get dressed
*start load of laundry (switch dipes over to dryer (daily) and start whatever load from upstairs, although I don't have to do this everyday--probably every other)
*empty dishwasher
*look at menu
*check email

With any luck, I can do this before 7:30 when the daycare kids start coming. Then, the rest of the day is just making sure we pick up as we go. All toys get picked up before lunch, meal dishes go in the dw immediately (kids put their own in) and I try to load the dw as I use the dishes in preparing the meal.

Vaccuming, bathroom cleaning, dusting, etc. get done as needed. Usually in the early am or evening I'll do whatever needs to be done. Some Saturdays, I get really motivated and do the whole house, but not often.
