Re: Walmart 88 Prenatals?

There are 4 types of rainbow light prenatals. I started taking them when my friends (who do homebirths and are ultra crunchy) recommended them to me. Turns out I could only get 1 type past my doctors (oncologist didn't want me on too much Vit. E). I have been happy with it and I like that it doesn't automatically have a DHA component that I can't have (already on low dose aspirin and tend to have low blood pressure anyway). I have also been on the New Chapter Prenatals when I was first TTC. I think they are a good brand as well.

However neither of these brands are cheap. Honestly the one I liked the best that was cheap and for "normal" people or people without a ton of pre-existing conditions like me, are the One A Day brand. I think they are about $10 at Walmart. They have a pretty good content of vitamins in them too. So if that is all you can afford don't feel bad. They do have a DHA component as well.

Trust me I have been researching Prenatals for about 6 years now. My first pregnancy I had mild hypermesis and so I have been looking for a good injectable prenatal ever since (didn't have this problem with my son so cut back on the search then). When that isn't available I did research and found that EC vitamins are the best. These are coated to prevent upset stomach.

Good luck!
