Re: Rinse rinse rinse rinse

I'm having similar issues. When we had a lot of issues, we changed our routine including washing our diapers on our Casual cycle (above delicate but less than normal I think) for more agitation. I didn't really think it helped because the Calgon seemed to really help us. We went back to the Delicate cycle this past week and we had terrible stink again almost immediately. I think the Casual cycle was doing more good than I thought and the extra agitation was helping get the soap out. Not sure what cycle setting you are doing, but maybe if you are doing delicate, you can try one level higher.

I run the regular wash on the whites heavy duty cycle. i've just been rinsing on a short rinse cycle OR a short white cycles. I'll try a regular long whites no detergent this weekend to see if it helps.

I r ecommend the white vinegar in your rinse. I had soft water at my last house and used a specifically low sudsing detergent. Make your own! It is way cheaper, is perfect for diapers because it doesn't suds a ton, and it free and clear. I got my info from www.homemademothering.com.

And skip the calgon and just use white vinegar...it softens the water and acts as a rinsing agent.

Re: Rinse rinse rinse rinse

my usual routine is a cold rinse on delicate (uses most water) followed by a whitest whites (hot wash, extra long, extra rinse). if i ever have stink issues i use calgon on clean diapers, followed by 3 hot cycles (regular cycle), which works great. i have very hard water and thats generally all i need. i do this less than once a month.

after 6 months of use i used RLR. it does an extra good job of removing any mineral buildup.
