Using HE detergent in a non-HE machine

If I am using HE detergent in a non-HE machine would I use more or less than the recommended amount?

You would use about twice as much. You want a certain concentration of detergent in the water but the TLer has about twice as much water in a wash, so you need twice as much detergent.

The main difference with HE compatible detergents is that they don't suds as much.

So I was using the recommended amount for a FL and getting suds, but not clean diapers. Now, if I use X2 I am going to rinsing forever. I am using A&H Sensitive, do I need to switch? RnG wasn't working for us, Country Save did not work for us, and I use A&H on our clothes so I was hoping to stick with it. Does anyone have the same problem with Tide? I was going to switch to Tide but I don't want to spend MORE money and have the same problem of sud-sing that I do with A&H.

I read up on some sight, don't know which, that you can use the same amount. I've been using Tide HE liquid and fill to line one. It cleans just as well.
