We pretty much keep the tv on disney junior so that means doc mcstuffins, jake and the neverland pirates, Mickey mouse, higglytown hero, and octonats. We have a very relaxed view on watching tv but I will not let him watch spongebob.

I think the few clips I saw were a bit violent. And someone was called an idiot. I never bothered to watch a full episode when the show intro turned me off right away.

We do not have tv/cable...just preapproved movies we own....like land before time, thomas, jungle book, bambi....my 14 and 13 year olds are only allowed to watch pg13 movies that I have watched and approved..which honestly is very little (once I have cut movies with major se* scenes, language, and violence...there is not much left.)They like stuff like little house on the prarie, dr. quinn, 5 miles crk...ect. It may seem strange to some but my teens are very sheltered. In fact, my dd had spent the night with a friend and the mom took them to a movie. my dd walked out of the theater after the first 10 min(pg13). She said she knew I wouldn't have approved it and that the violence was disturbing. She couldn't understand why anyone would want to watch it. I was so proud. Lol.

Re: I wanna know- What DON'T you let your kids watch????

I think spongebob is hilarious. I am not to that point yet but I probably wont be very strict. I hate hate hate most of the live action show aimed towards preteens. I don't really have a problem with most of the cartoons though. My SO hates caillou sp? he feels its condescending.

Re: I wanna know- What DON'T you let your kids watch????

Honestly most shows geared for children. He likes them and for a time when I was in cancer treatment he was watching them, but now nope. If the TV is on, it is normally the science or history channel. Occasionally we have other shows that mommy and daddy like and sports but that is it.

I feel that most shows that are geared to children talk down to them so I don't want my son to see that. I could be odd but my son loves watching science and history and I feel he learns more watching them so I am not upset.

However I know I am odd ball.

No SpongeBob here either. And there's a Bratz TV show on Netflix that I won't let her watch.

Uhm this doesn't really come up a lot so I don't know all of them. Haha.

The shows they CANT watch are: Kai LAN, wonder pets, spongebob and anything not on nick jr or Disney jr. We don't do regular cartoons or anything.

That being said the tv is on all the time and usually it's background noise because I don't like quiet.

we were like this too for a while. My husband likes background noise. But then we started to hear certain things we didn't like on some of the Disney shows and what not. So now we limit them to prewatched movies and a couple shows. Surprises me some of the things that are on the kids channels now!
