Are these worth anything?
I am new to CDing and before DS was born, I wasn’t sure what method would work for us. I purchased several different types of diapers and covers. I like to sew so I also made 8 upcycled wool covers following Katrina’s soaker pattern size newborn.
We have since discovered that trifolding in covers works great for us and I have no desire to use prefolds any other way. These covers have never been used. They are just sitting in the drawer. I think they are cute and would hate to see them go to waste. The grey and red are 100% wool. The green is 100% wool and the tan is 80% wool. They have been felted. I washed in wool wash and lanolized using Lansinoh twice. I also have 2 Snappis (white and mint) and 2 sets of Boingos (yellow and blue) that have never been used. Plus the Lansinoh tube that is practically brand new. Are these items worth anything? Could I sell them on FSOT and get a little out of them? If so, what do you guys think is a fair price for the lot? Thanks for your help! Last edited by Boohakis; 10-05-2012 at 11:03 AM. |

Re: Are these worth anything?
Oh my! They are super cute and I am sure someone will want them. Unfortunately, I have not bought or used wool so I don't know the going rates. I would think maybe $15 each or more and maybe a discount on each set?

Re: Are these worth anything?
Wait...$15 for 4 or each cover? I don't really know anything about wool.
I was thinking I could do two sets of four covers, 1 snappi and a set of boingos? I don't know how many covers a person needs since I've never used wool either. Last edited by Boohakis; 09-14-2012 at 07:49 AM. |

Re: Are these worth anything?
This was what I was thinking. Although they look really really nice. Depending on how they hold up and how the insides look have you considered trying make them to sell?

Re: Are these worth anything?
I just sold a truckload of mama made wool - the stuff that was well sewn and in great condition I sold for $5-$6. Major upcycled soaker brands sell for around $15 new - fsot doesn't let you get anywhere close to that price.
If I were you, I would list them for $6ppd. Or, in bundles of 2 for $11ppd. You will spend around $2 on shipping/paypal fees for shipping 1 soaker. |

I'm no wool expert, but they are just so darn cute! I would think someone would buy them! You'll sell the Boingo's and Snapis quick. They are cheap to ship so you should get most of your money back.

I agree super cute! What size are they? I'd try $10 each maybe $30 for all 4 (buy 3 get 1 free!) and see what happens you can always drop the price.
