Oh no! My oven died!
Yeah, so long story short we are without an oven for a while. I was hoping it would hold out til income taxes, but I guess not.
The good news is that we do have a large Nuwave oven and a George Foreman thing that has a griddle part, plus a microwave and 2 crockpots. I liked to make casseroles though. Has anyone gone a while without an actual stove? Advice? ![]() I am going to try to find a cheap one at the thrift store, but

Re: Oh no! My oven died!
We have before. Luckily, we have a wood burning stove & spent the cold months cooking on that. Crockpot cooking is great, so is the grill if you've got one outside. You can use a little cook burner temp from the camping section. Or if you've got one of those turkey fryer things - you know, has a little stand, uses a little propane tank & a big pot on the top. Those work good for things you'd cook on the stove that wouldn't work in a grill, etc.

What about getting one of those larger countertop toaster ovens... Don't think it'd be great for casserole but I bet you can morph some of your fave casseroles to become crock pot-able! Gl mama!

Re: Oh no! My oven died!
Our oven just died too- though the top burners still work. We have gone a month and a half without the oven- all I miss is baking and making pizzas. We have been using our grill, stove top and crock pot. Good luck- I don't see us affording a new stove for a while...

Do you need a whole new range? Just a suggestion. Our oven died a few months after we moved in and I replaced the element (it's an electric range... Ugh) for around $50 or something.

Re: Oh no! My oven died!
We did without an oven when DS1 broke the oven door by repeatedly standing on the door. I did used a large toaster oven for lots of things including baking smaller loaves of bread. I have also done pizza on the grill. Crockpots are great for casseroles.

Re: Oh no! My oven died!
OP check freecycle and craigslist in your area. I see people giving away stoves around here all the time
Might not be great but you could clean it and it would keep you cooking until tax time
