We somehow put the kids to bed without any dinner. Both of us thought they had eaten with their GPs. They hadn't said anything about wanting dinner and they usually do if they haven't already eaten. An hour after they'd gone to bed Shannon comes out saying they forgot to have dinner.

We felt bad too....I mean it's a special kind of parent (meaning the bot of us) that manages to put all 4 children to bed with no dinner.

On that note it's getting late (well not really late for my usual bed time but I'm sick and didn't take my meds this afternoon so I'm feeling especially tired today) and I have to be up and out the door early tomorrow morning. We have an appointment in town about Derry. More on that tomorrow.

sigh....heard from MH's room where Isiah and his cousin are playing in MH's room

Cousin: This is all your room, who do you share with.
MH: Oh, no one
Cousin: Wow that is cool

She really is a lucky kid. We sometimes forget that when we cant give her everything she wants.

Dh was just talking about that last night Jen. He said that our kids totally think everyone's mom bakes with their kids regularly, lets them do playdough and messy crafts frequently, limits their electronics time and has them do puzzles and board games. Goes on adventures to fairs and civic events, museums and the zoo. That we have a library (heavily supplemented with weekly trips to the public library) that is actually used and both they and we read out loud to the others. He says it is painfully apparent every time he has to watch the kids for any length of time or when the neighbor girl comes over. That they are going to be in for a rude awakening when they go visit friends at school, LOL. The same for MH, she has all those animals, plays with tools and paint, etc that I am willing to bet that many of her classmates and neighbors do not.

Jen I am frequently surprised when I shower the kids that they have bumps, bruises, and rashes I had no idea they had . You are right, they survive despite our best efforts.

Why is it that when I am overwhelmed, I can't do anything at all?!? I need to just start lesson plans, but instead I am feeling paralysed by it all. Grrrrr.

I am a big fan of breaking everything down into lists. then I feel better as I cross things off. Even if the first thing on my list is make a list
