Re: Suggestions for kid friendly shows/movies?

I know you said you didn't want Netflix but at $8 a month it is cheaper for us than buying movies. An added plus are no commercials. My kids ask for a lot less things when they can't see commercials.

This!! PBS has a ton of shows that would be appropriate for a 3 yr old. My 2.5 yr old DD likes Super Why, Curious George, The Cat in the Hat Knows A Lot About That, etc.

OTW there are learning DVDs - we grabbed the Leap Frog Letter Factory DVD from the library and DD likes it. Teaches letters and their sounds.

My DD likes Thomas and Friends DVDs too, if you're into that kind of thing. I think the older Thomas episodes are better and more appropriate than the newer cartoon ones, personally.

We like Thomas, Fireman Sam, Sesame Street, Cat in the Hat (PBS show, not the movie) Curious George, Daniel Tiger (new PBS show- Mr. Rogers's neighbor spin off)

We mostly watch PBS shows. We don't have cable- only regular tv, Netflix & the PBS iPad app.

I like most PBS show- I don't find them as annoying as other shows available on cable. Anyone else find WonderPets like fingernails on chalkboard? And what is up with those Disney cartoons???

We also love Dinosaur Train on PBS and Sid the science Kid from PBS. We will occasionally watch Super Why, Word World & Martha Speaks on PBS. Can you tell we are big PBS fans!?

Oh yeah, I forgot about PBS Kids! Also, you can watch full episodes on their website.

OP, if you go to PBS right now, Super Why is about to start, followed by Dinosaur Train.

We're almost exclusively PBS here. Current favorite for DD is the previously mentioned Daniel Tiger. My DS enjoys WildKrats.
