I've had quite a few, it'd be a longish post. If you're going for Ashford, I'd say check craigslist, because they're good beginner wheels and often get upgraded later and make their way to craigslist etc. I'm selling my Traveller this weekend. Ashford is like Ford, they are inexpensive and have parts readily available and can last pretty much forever, but people do outgrow them.
I have owned 2 Kromskis and have been over the moon happy with them, the quality is great. Several (nearly all of my spinning friends) ended up with Kromskis as well and very much enjoy them. I probably shouldn't even comment on the Matchless because there's clearly something wrong with it, but I do feel safe saying that even if it was working as intended, I feel like the price is too high for what you get. Other brands offer similar at much lower price points. I have not owned a Majacraft but I've spun on one and it was excellent, but expensive as well. Louet and Fricke I know next to nothing about.

I saw about the tablet, but it's going to be the same price as the older version Amazon Kindle, so I'm not sure if it's worth it for the kids one yet.

Morning sickness is kicking my butt today in a big way. I found errata in the storyteller hoodie, I'm not sure how it wasn't noticed before, but I messaged Carina and MadTosh both. I've also been in touch with the lady from Bountiful, but I've decided no matter what I'm not keeping the Matchless. I just need to figure out now if it's something to return because it's disfunctional, or if it's too touchy and some adjustment slips or what. If it's deemed "fine" by Schacht I'll just sell it and be done. What a nightmare. I'm happily back to spinning on the Sonata since last night

You need to research it all yourself not base it on our small groups limited experiences. What works for us might not work for you. Case in point I live my matchless mindy doesn't. It is a very individual thing.
