Re: do "baby wearers" never use a stroller?

I babywear & use a stroller. Each work better in different situations.

I live in an urban area & often do walking errands. We'll walk 6-8 miles & stop places like the PO, food co-op, or hardware store. Babywearing my 23m old & making my 4.5yr old walk that entire time just wouldn't work. I use my double mtn buggy then.

If we are just walking down to the park or up to the PO often my DD will ride her balance bike & I'll wear DS. Or if we're going to some event we'll bring the carrier instead of the stroller.

I didn't w/ds1 other than maybe 5x ever and ds2 has never been in one. They have their place and for some families they're great. I always just babywear though

Sent from my iPod touch using DS Forum-sometimes my iPod thinks it's a better speller than me...

I do both. I baby wear a lot around the house and shopping. Also at restaurants. I use the stroller if we're going to be walking a lot. It's more for carrying our things than the children. Lol. I have a 6week old who is carried 90% of the time and a 2 year old who loves to walk. But sometimes we all need a place to set things/ourselves/them down for a bit.

I use a stroller as well as babywear. I usually push my 2 yr old while I wear my 9 month old, especially in places where I want him confined as he gets into everything! LOL

I've used our stroller... Maybe twice? But I'll probably get more use out of it next summer, when DS is bigger and it's too hot to Babywear.

I use both a lot. If I'm going to be walking around for more than 30 minutes, I bring the stroller. Never fails, if I don't, the preschooler tires or I end up with heavy bags or something that the stroller would be helpful with. But, I also have a light Maclaren stroller, so it doesn't seem too bad to push it, even empty.

I do both. I mainly wear him around the house or down to the mailbox. My son is 30 pounds, so there is a limit to what my back can handle. I use the stroller when we are out or on walks. He loves his stroller so I couldn't deny him the fun of riding in it.

Re: do "baby wearers" never use a stroller?

I got 3 carrier sling things when my son was born as babyshower gifts. One was awkward to use and the other 2 I always felt he was going to suffocate in so I never used them. I passed them on to a close friend and found out later they were both recalled due to babies smothering in them! I really really want a nice sling or carrier now that baby 2 is on the way because all I ever did was carry my first (and still do even though he is 3 1/2) but I don't think that will be as realistic having two to care for. Any suggestions?

We always take a stroller to the zoo, county fair, etc. However, oftentimes it's often used to carry all of the "stuff" that we're carting around (diaper bag, jackets, food, etc.) rather than the kids!
