Re: Where can I put my 10 month old to sleep?

I'd put a mattress on the floor. Mine were all climbers, though not quite *that* young. My sons were in toddler beds by 18 months and we put my daughter on a mattress on the floor of her room at 12 months. It's worked great!

I agree with the other posters - either a toddler bed, or just move the crib mattress to the floor. It may take a bit of adjusting, but probably not much if she's all ready able to climb out of the crib when she wants anyways!

Wow that's young! What about one of those crib tents?

Our PnP is at my Mom's house, but she can get out that too. And I think she'd wreak havoc on a crib tent.

I think I'll have to put a mattress on the floor. She's been crawling out of our bed and walking around before we're awake for about a month, so at least the entire upstairs is already super baby-proofed.

She's such a monkey!! I wasn't prepared for this quite yet!

My son did this too, but not that young. We put his crib to the daybed stage and put a child proof handle on the closet door and bedroom door because he's run around the house when we were sleeping if we didn't!
There was also a baby monitor in there, so when/if he really needed up, we could hear him!

This might sound strange, but we put our 9 month old on a floor bed in our walk-in closet. It's nice and cozy in there (and dark and quiet and safe). Plus, it's only two steps from the bed so it's easy to get to her when she wakes in the middle of the night. I think a floor bed in a normal sized room would be too much space for her... She'd never stop crawling around long enough to sleep!

Ha, no, doesn't sounds strange at all! I thought about doing the same thing, but our dog has claimed our closet as his safe spot. I'd feel guilty if I kicked him out now.

Re: Where can I put my 10 month old to sleep?

My daughter start climbing out of her crib around 15 months, despite her mattress being on the lowest setting. We solved the problem by putting her to slep in a Halo Sleep Sack. In the sleep sack, she is no longer able to swng her leg up to climb out. Don't knwo if that would help in your situation but it's worth a try

Our guide is "once they're able to climb out of the crib, it's time for a bed." It's safer than the crib, and you'll probably need extra patience in the beginning.
