Re: How long was the labor with your second lo?
1- 11.5 hrs
2- Water broke at 4:30, didn't have first ctx until 8:30, DD was born at 11:37. Either 7 or 3 hours depending on how you want to count it 3- Water broke at 8:30, didn't have first ctx until 9:45, baby born at 11:45 so 3 hrs 15 minutes or 2 hours depending on how you want to count it. Water broke prior to onset of active labor with all 3, it was only a 30 minutes gap with DS1. It was always a surprise when my water broke. Odds are I'll have my membranes rupture prior to any contractions or anything this time too...And with each kid I walked into the hospital at 2/3cm. I go from 4-10 in no time flat. Took 25 minutes from 4cm to baby with DS2.

Re: How long was the labor with your second lo?
12 with my first (induced with Pitocin, pushed for about 45 minutes)
6 with my second (induced with Pitocin and vaccuum extraction after only about 5 minutes of pushing )6 with my third (no meds, "induced" by breaking water bag, 2 pushes and baby was out)

Re: How long was the labor with your second lo?
well, here's the thing...
with my first, I was admitted to the hosp at only 3 cm and I was only in very early labor, where I was uncomfortable and nervous but not in active labor at all. With my second, he was a homebirth and I didn't recognize the first stage, so I only recognized the active stage. With my third, I recognized the early stage and I paced nervously all day long, then fell asleep, woke up one hour later, and had a baby about one hour after I woke up. How do I put accurate times on those? LOL. The active/intense parts of my labors were kind of like this: 1st - 4 hrs 2nd - 1.5 hrs 3rd - 1 hr

Re: How long was the labor with your second lo?
My second birth was a lot faster than the first but would have been faster if I didn't go with epi.

My water broke as the start of labor for each of my pregnancies. Ctx started about an hour and a half after my water broke with DD, and within a half hour with DS.
DD - water broke at 8:20-ish pm (at prenatal yoga!!), delivered at 6:47 pm after 2 hrs pushing. Total 22.5 hrs. DS - water broke at 6:25-ish pm while playing with DD in the yard. Delivered at 6:52 am after 2 hrs pushing (he has a big head ). Total 12.5 hrs.Sent from my iPhone using DS Forum

Re: How long was the labor with your second lo?
From start of the first real contractions to pushing the baby out:
#1, DS: 22.5 hours (spontaneous labor started at 42 weeks & 2 days, I went to the hospital after 5 or so hours and was dilated to 4, had pitocin and an epidural before it was all said and done) #2, DD: 24.5 hours (spontaneous labor started at 39 weeks, 6 days, I completely stalled out after 10 or so hours and was dilated to 5, we moved over to the hospital after 12+ hours, my MW broke my water, it still took pitocin to really get labor going again, and I had an epidural before it was all said and done)
