I fed my kids cake for breakfast. :-)

We made homemade carrot cake last night, with fresh pineapple, fresh carrot, and fresh coconut. We cut the sugar by 2/3 or more.

So fresh fruit's vegetables and no more sugar than a doughnut. Sounds logical right? ;-)

At least my kids think I'm the best mom ever. :-)

A few weeks ago, we stopped at the fruit stand and bought a big box of fresh peaches. The next day I went in to make breakfast and I literally could not think of anything but peach cobbler. So I made some. And we ate it hot for breakfast with vanilla ice cream on top. And I don't feel bad about it. Ice cream for breakfast is a once-a-year (or less) thing at our house. So yeah, I think dessert for breakfast is okay as long as it doesn't become a common occurrence

It's definitely not common. In fact, we usually don't keep sweets in the house, but my goodness was it a crap ton of work to shred all that, and peel the coconut etc. I was not letting that effort go to waste. Lol!

Sounds yummy!

I gave my kid a slice of banana cream pie for breakfast a few weeks back. He had helped make it but was in bed when it set and he was so excited to try it. Why not? It's just a once in a while treat and it's not like it was going to be any healthier later in the day.

My thought too! But it sounds like we are both on board with yummy treats!

Not sure about you but for me way more excited than I should lol!

Lol I have great self control and really no auger in the house but I love me some treats!

We have waffles or pancakes every Saturday morning - our regular toppings include maple syrup, whipped cream, fruit, honey, sugar, jam etc. Your cake sounds WAY healthier than that!
